Em 2008 a revista americana Out, voltada para o público gay, pediu a vários colaboradores, dentre os quais muita gente notoriamente assumida, como os cantores Boy George e Rufus Wainright, que elaborassem uma lista selecionando "os 100 discos mais gays de todos os tempos".E... surpresa! Na liderança da tal lista não constam itens óbvios como os álbuns de Gloria Gaynor, Village People ou Barbra Streisand. Os três discos mais gays de todos os tempos são respectivamente: The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Starsdust, de David Bowie, The Smiths (1984) e Tracy Chapman (1988).
Felizmente tenho os dois primeiros em cd. Bem como todos os discos do Velvet Underground, alguns de Lou Reed, Patti Smith, Blondie, Dusty Springfield, e outros presentes na lista, mas creio que tais artistas deveriam constar em qualquer lista de melhores discos de todos os tempos, independente dos gêneros sexuais dos próprios artistas ou de seus admiradores.
De qualquer forma a idéia é interessante, mas os discos citados são exclusivamente americanos ou ingleses. Daí me pergunto porque alguma publicação gay nacional ainda não fez nada parecido, porque afinal ninguém escolheu "os discos mais gays dos Brasil?" Eu certamente votaria nestes:
